Extinct Tribes: El Molo

Last Dawn Of El Molo

The El Molo is Kenya’s smallest tribe which lives in the north of the country, on the shores of Lake Turkana. Legend has it that the El Molo has a population that never rises above 100 people. However, nowadays, the young increasingly leave the tribe, to move to cities or to marry members of bigger tribes.

Possibly extinct language belonging to the Cushitic branch of the Afro-Asiatic language family and dialect which have now disappeared, together with their unique legends. But those who remain in the village, continue to live their lives in the simple way the generations of their ancestors did before them.
